Success of first annual SMT North America User Forum
SMT hosted their first North America User Forum on the 11 October 2018 at the InCubator, Oakland University in Detroit. The forum was a great success and had a range of attendees and customers who were looking to learn more about the significant advances of SMT’s CAE software, MASTA.
This is a great step in the development of SMT as a business and marks the footprint in an additional location as we opened our new office earlier this year in Troy, Michigan. The forum provided a great opportunity for customers and partners to learn about new and emerging developments of the company and industry trends, including the upcoming release of MASTA 9, the next major software release. Further presentations included MASTA’s module series, DRIVA, an innovative solution for the full modelling and dynamic analysis of complete drivetrains, based on a full six degrees of freedom flexible multibody dynamics approach.
We were also pleased to have two guest presentations recounting their own experiences using #MASTA in their projects. Dr. Vikram Chopra from Axle Tech presented solving a noise problem for an electric bus axle using MASTA. Ben Sheen from Eaton presented on the novel use of using MASTA to solve an issue of contacting rotors in superchargers.
Jason Sholy, Technical Manager at SMT LLC says: “Without both internal and client support, the North America User Forum would not have been a success. An extension of research and development, the User Forum was an opportunity for listening to our clients which proved extremely important to the success and future enhancement of SMT’s MASTA software. The fact that we had our clients present their experiences of using the software speaks volumes to the success of the first annual SMT LLC North America User Forum. I would like to thank everyone that attended, presented and supported the forum behind the scenes. Watch this space for the 2019 North America User Forum”
