From the 1st to 3rd of April, SMT will be sharing its insight and solutions to the Noise Challenge facing automotive axle engineers at the Gleason Gear Solutions Forum 2014.
SMT’s strategic partner Gleason has invited them to discuss a prominent topic in the gear industry with their guests. The subject of Automotive Axle Noise was chosen due to the increase in challenges raised by SMT customers. SMT identifies this is due to the continuous weight reduction demands to the engine, vehicle interior and gearbox to meet the need of a lighter more energy efficient vehicle. Sound reduction in the vehicle therefore must be reduced at its source in the drivetrain rather than dampened by surplus materials. Originally a concern primarily for developed markets, developing markets such as China are now competing with innovative systems. The need for Axle noise reduction is therefore on the global rise.
The show will be from the 1st to the 3rd April in Ludwigsburg, Germany, where visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the latest developments in gear design, simulation and manufacture. In addition to presentations from industry experts there will be the opportunity to discuss the latest technologies in a personalised and relaxed environment. SMT will have a booth where the topics of the talk can be discussed further and also an opportunity to try out our latest design and simulation software.
